A Night at Alfy's

Last night we had such a great time at Book Club! We met at Alfy's Pizza and enjoyed the pizza and wonderful salad bar. It was great to talk about "To Kill a Mockingbird." Everyone really liked it. We also saw other friends from church eating at the restuarant. We had a lot of fun chatting with everyone and eating until the salad bar closed!

September Book

Amy Germer will be hosting for the month of September. She has chosen to read the next in the "Hunger Games" series: "Catching Fire," by Suzanne Collins. I am so excited to read it! I loved the "Hunger Games!"


Here's a brief synopsis of the book:

"Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge."
